In light of a rainy Sunday, let's talk WR

Water repellent, water resistant and waterproof.

Three different production process and suited for different needs.

💧Water Resistant
This is the least effective out of the three. 
The idea is resist water using the fabric as a barrier between you and a light rain. 
Most times this is done weaving the fabric tighter to ensure water doesn't seep through as fast. 
In the end it's a matter of time before your wet. 
Construction wise, nothing is tailored to stop water from going through, so you can expect the normal constructions.

🌧️Water Repellent (WR)
A coating is added to the fabric to stop water penetrating the fabric. 
Technical term is Hydrophobic Coating. 
Water beards up on the surface and rolls off, 
offering you protection from getting wet. 
A step up from water resistant but no quite on the level of waterproof.

⛈️Waterproof
Most of the time this will require fabrics made to be water repellent, 
breathable fabric and some construction work to complete the task. 
Using a quick dry, wicking type fabric to begin with, 
apply a good DWR coating, taped seams, pockets and waterproof zippers will do the trick.
